Booking
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral is needed for physiotherapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, osteopathy, RMT, or Pilates.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book directly online at velahealth.janeapp.com, through our booking page, or by calling the front desk at (250) 590-8352 during clinic hours.
Craig Babiuk shows as unavailable online. How do I book with him?
Craig is currently managing his schedule through the front desk for new and returning patients. Call (250) 590-8352 and we'll arrange it.
Direct Billing & Insurance
Do you direct bill?
Yes — we direct bill to most extended health benefit plans including Sun Life, Great-West Life (Canada Life), Blue Cross, Manulife, Desjardins, Medavie Blue Cross, and many others. Bring your benefit card to your first appointment.
What if my plan doesn't direct bill?
We'll provide a receipt you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
Is physiotherapy covered by MSP (BC Medical)?
Physiotherapy is not covered under standard MSP. Extended health benefits through your employer or private plan typically do cover physiotherapy — check your plan's coverage limits.
Your Appointment
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your extended health benefit card for direct billing, any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRIs) or previous medical records, and wear or bring clothing that gives access to the area being treated.
How long is a typical appointment?
Initial appointments are typically 45–60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 30–45 minutes.
What's the cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee — see our Clinic Policies page for full details.
The Clinic
Where is Vela Health?
We're at 201-2590 Cadboro Bay Rd, Oak Bay, BC — a few minutes from the village and Gyro Beach. Street parking and on-site parking are available.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. We are closed on weekends and statutory holidays.
